I once wore a fez in to church. Because I saw a red fez on the
show Dr. Who, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
One of my friends at church asked me what religion I am a part of
today. I replied, 'Just Lutheran'.
He said to me, 'What you're wearing is a Turkish head dress.'
He then explained about religious persecution in Turkey. Like any
other place, I know they're not the only ones to do this, but now I hide the
hat away because it reminds me of the things I read, and I can't wear it any
more without feeling sad.
